What we do...
Northerngates.ca is designed as a portal for all Canadian post-secondary students to employers. Instead of focusing on jobs like the job sites do, we focus on the students. This is not a job site for students; it is the student site for jobs. Whether you are looking for a summer job, a co-op job, or a potentially long-term career for post-graduation, we make your job search more efficient and effective.
How it works...
You (the student) are looking for employment in your hometown for this summer. All you need to do is:
- Go to our website
- Fill out your profile
- Upload your resume
- If you have a JoBlog, post the link to it
By entering your information into the database through your profile, employers search using their criteria for the job, and find a field of candidates that meet the criteria.
To further help both the employer and student, we use a combination of personally themed profiles and JoBlogs as a window into you as a person and not just another resume.
What are JoBlogs? They are blogs where you highlight some work experience from a personal perspective; a sort of halfway point between your resume and cover letter.
